Uppsala Int’l Filmfest to screen ‘Umbra’

Iran short film ‘Umbra’ is to go on silver screen at the 37th Uppsala International film Festival in Sweden.

Iran short film ‘Umbra’ has been set to go on the silver screen at the 37th edition of Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden.

Directed by Saeed Jafarian ‘Umbra’ is to compete at the Swedish film event as Iran representative.

The short film has so far succeeded to attend some remarkable film festivals all around the world including Cinéfondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival, the 2018 Vila do Conde Film festival in Portugal, the 17th Silhouette Film Festival in France, and the 42nd Toronto International Short Film Festival in Canada.

‘Umbra’ is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that she is with no one. Worried, she goes out in the darkness of the streets.

Founded in 1982, Uppsala International Short Film Festival has since become Sweden’s premier arena for short film. The festival has succeeded to gain both national recognition of the Swedish Film Institute and genuine international renown.

 In addition, the festival is the most important international cultural event in Uppsala. Every year the festival shows more than 300 short films in five different sections exploring the diversity and richness of the short films.

The 2018 edition of the event is slated for October 22-28, in Uppsala, Sweden.
